Zoning a Living Room with Aludoors Sliding Partitions
Flexible villa zoning in Dubai by ET GROUP. ALUDOORS GRID sliding systems with an oriental Mashrabiya pattern: threshold-free installation, independent tracks and perfect light without sacrificing privacy.
An architectural solution for zoning the space
In Dubai villa interiors, the open-plan concept calls for a flexible approach: the ability to transform an expansive living room into a private lounge in an instant, without losing usable floor area or natural light.
On this luxury villa project, the ET GROUP team delivered functional zoning using two independently moving sliding leaves from the ALUDOORS GRID series.
The configuration allows the opening scenarios to be varied at will: the partition can become a compact decorative screen, close the opening completely for privacy, or have each leaf moved independently to suit the way guests and family members move through the home.
Technical and design features of ALUDOORS GRID
The ALUDOORS GRID collection combines graphic minimalism, restrained oriental motifs (an adapted Mashrabiya pattern) and outstanding engineering:
- Independent leaf movement: the two sliding leaves run on parallel tracks entirely independently, allowing the opening to be closed off to any degree.
- Threshold-free top-hung system: the concealed overhead track removes the need for a floor guide. This preserves the integrity of expensive flooring (marble or porcelain stoneware) and creates a seamless visual transition between zones.
- Climate-resilient profile: the anodised aluminium profile offers increased rigidity and will not deform under the temperature contrasts and constant air-conditioning (HVAC) operation typical of the UAE climate.
- Integration with the interior: the latticed structure of the GRID leaves admits natural light and sits naturally alongside timber wall panels, natural stone and planting features such as bonsai.
