Sliding partitions in the contemporary interior

Functional zoning of a Dubai residence: Aludoors Verti sliding partitions by ET GROUP
ET GROUP has completed another interior fit-out project for a luxury private villa in the UAE (Dubai). To divide a generous open-plan space into a dining area and a living room, a four-panel Aludoors Verti sliding system was designed and installed.
The Verti collection, with its vertical slatted pattern, answered a twofold brief: separating the functional zones without sacrificing daylight, while giving the space a dynamic graphic quality.
Design and technical features of Aludoors Verti
1. A four-panel configuration for large openings
Four panels that move independently or in sync give maximum flexibility in how the space is used:
- Fully open: the panels slide aside, uniting the kitchen, dining room and living room into a single entertaining space.
- Partly or fully closed: the dining area can be gently screened off, preserving an intimate atmosphere over dinner.
2. Vertical graphics and the play of light
The Verti series stands out for its elegant structure with a rhythmic vertical profile. This design feature performs several roles at once:
- Daylight and soft diffused light: the partition lets natural light through, creating an expressive play of light and shadow.
- Light visual privacy: it creates a psychological barrier between zones without weighing the interior down with solid walls.
- Vertical rhythm: it visually raises the ceiling height, underlining the monumental scale of the villa.
3. Threshold-free top-hung system
To preserve the integrity of the premium marble and porcelain stoneware flooring, the ET GROUP engineers specified a top-hung mechanism:
- There are no floor tracks or thresholds at all, giving a seamless visual transition between the zones.
- Concealed ceiling guides deliver smooth, silent and effortless movement across all four panels.
4. Climate resistance of the profile
The aluminium profile of Aludoors Verti partitions carries a durable anodised or powder-coated finish that withstands temperature swings and the constant operation of air conditioning (HVAC) — critical for projects in the UAE. The profile keeps its perfect geometry and colour throughout its service life.
Aesthetics and integration into the interior
The design of the Aludoors Verti partitions sits naturally within the villa's contemporary eco-minimalist scheme:
- The matt black profile provides a stylish graphic contrast to the soft beige upholstery palette, the pale walls and the natural timber.
- The slatted texture of the partition echoes the vertical elements of the finishes, the joinery fronts and the architectural lighting.
This Dubai project is a vivid example of how ET GROUP engineering turns large open-plan spaces into flexible, comfortable and transformable living areas.
